its first library of textures and colours. When the young man announces

| In 1990, he follows the courses of the College of Cabinetmaking in Avignon, where he completes his mastery of the sculpture. His first works, figurative painting, are colored, violent; he likes fairs, markets and supermarkets, service stations, in the truth urban scenes. He exhibits and sell regularly; everything could so continue; but not, brutally, the year 1994 , it is the break ; the artist abandons the figurative art for the abstraction. He says: " I could paint something of reassuring, landscapes for example; it would indeed be, gentile; but exactly it is the doubt which advances me in my painting, it is the mainspring, the emotion of my canvases... When I begin a canvas, that is with the music of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Fred Frith, Tony Conrad ; the music settles a chaotic circle in my workshop ; it pushes aside walls; I can go down in the well of the emotion and fill my buckets. " During you the years, he works relentlessly
in his workshop which overhangs the Marne River, to Saulchery. His technique
evolves; his generous knife works the texture of the oil with passion,
playing on the alliances, deceiving alliances, through diffuse transparencies
and thickenings of material. BIBLIOGRAPHICAL NOTES 15 ans de peinture contemporaine vue par Dominique Stal, dans l'oeuvre de 61 peintres / 1985-2000 ; Print by Maisonneuve and Larose |
